True Stereo Mic – Stereo feeling in every recording
The WS-852 features two low-noise directional stereo microphones with a 90° layout to deliver a superb stereo feeling – enabling you to record even the smallest details of your meeting. Regardless of where the person speaking is located or the direction of speech, you can clearly capture the information.

Intelligent Auto Mode - Does the adjusting for you
To make listening to your recordings more comfortable, Intelligent Auto Mode automatically adjusts the recording level to match the volume of the sound source. When a speaker is talking loudly, the recorder reduces the input level, and for soft voices the recorder increases the input level – to always provide an even level of volume.

Simple Mode makes use easy, even for beginners
Simple Mode is perfect for beginners, as it shows only the necessary information in a large font and key functions in the menu. The first time the recorder is activated, users are asked to choose from either Normal Mode or Simple Mode, so initial set up is easy. Once you become accustomed to using the recorder, you can switch to normal mode should you desire more detailed information and settings.

Direct PC connection - The simplest way to save data
Save data easily and conveniently with the built-in USB connector. Simply transfer recordings from the voice recorder to an external hard disk drive or use it like a USB stick to share documents. This makes it possible to easily save data anytime, anywhere without the need to bring along a USB cable. For the WS-852, the USB connector is equipped with a protective cover to keep dust out of the connector.

Trouble-Free Recording with Scene Select
By pressing and holding the menu key, recording and scene selection options can be accessed. The modes automatically configures and optimise settings according to the situation.

With 5 recording pre-set modes: Lecture, Conference, Meeting, Dictation & DNS (for Speech to Text application) and 2 playback modes: Transcription & Language Study, it's possible for anyone to easily achieve trouble-free, high quality  recording and playback. 

Streamlined GUI with easy Calendar & File Search
Utilising tile icons, Olympus have provided a more intuitive and easy to use Graphical User Interface. Two function buttons have been added to simplify changing between the various modes. T
Audio files saved on the recorder are automatically managed by date allowing files to be quickly located and reviewed.
